Famous Sisters - Gabor Sisters
The three Gabor sisters, Magda, Zsa Zsa and Eva were born in Budapest, Hungary to their father Vilmos and their mother Jolie. From very early on the girls were given enormous opportunities to learn multiple foreign languages, a variety of winter sports and were always known for their stunning appearances. I would imagine it would be hard to take the three girls places and not have them get attention.
The sisters are five years apart with Magda the eldest child and Eva the youngest. In WWII their family moved to New York, shortly after Jolie took the three girls to Hollywood to test out the screen. My first memory of the Gabor sisters was Eva in watching reruns of the Green Acres tv show. Her role is still to this day made that show one of my favorites.
All three sisters became actresses and became well known for the number of marriages that followed them throughout their lives. My personal recollection of them growing up was that they were women who always exhibited a lot of class and elegance. Maybe because of the time and lack of the internet, I just never remember hearing anything bad about them or their happenings. Zsa Zsa is the last sister who is currently living.
As a sister myself, I wonder how they got along throughout their journeys in life. Did they remain close? How did they resolve their conflicts? Did they pass with regrets amongst each other? One thing I am quite sure of, is each woman surely has an incredible story to be told.
